Australia, September, 2011
Good Afternoon Mr Komang,
Between the 17th and 27th of September my husband and I stayed at Villa Alia in Seminyak, booked through Natan.
I would now like to give you some feedback on the villa and our stay.
Made and a driver from Natan collected us from the airport on the night of the 17th of September. Made is a very pleasant man and engaged in conversation very easily. I also booked Made for a trip to Ubud on Tuesday 20th September to attend an art class and it was a lovely day out, Made once more conversing of Bali traditions etc.
We were greeted at our villa and everything looked lovely and all the lights were on, the lady showed us around and they left.
The next morning Elu arrived, our house maid. It was pretty disappointing with the breakfasts and all that was on offer was bread, jam and watermelon. Having stayed in Bali a couple of times prior the breakfasts at the hotels were almost the highlight of the day. I think a little more could have been provided that would not cost the owner a lot of money. No juice, old coffee, no milk whatsoever. We had to go out and buy milk to make ourselves a drink before Elu arrived. Not good enough really.
There were no brochures, maps or guides left lying around for us to look at in the villa. This sort of information should be fairly standard in this type of accommodation.
The villa was perfect for us and situated in a good spot in Seminyak. The boards around the pool are in need of repair in a few areas, I would not like to have had young children running around as it could be quite dangerous in spots. The furnishings are in need of an update and chairs are badly water marked and couches not as clean as they could be. Paint work needs updating throughout the villa also. Generally the villa is tired looking and needs a new lease on life for the price that you are charging to rent the villa.
There was no mention of our staying the extra day as our flights did not leave Bali until midnight on the 27th of September. We managed to book a hotel room in Legian for the day and found our own way there by taxi.
If you could pass this information on to the owner of the unit I would appreciate that thank you.
Elu, our house maid was adorable. She looked after us so well and you wouldn't know she was around, everything was done in a quiet and timely manner. I would like you to pass my telephone number on to her as I promised her when we were leaving I would stay in touch. Mobile number is 0412 xxx xxx or 61 3 xxx xxxx is my home phone number. I would be happy if you passed Elu's mobile number on to me also.
Next year we are hoping to return to Bali for another holiday but this time with our son and his wife and also my daughter and her fiancee from Germany. We may need a villa that we can hold a wedding ceremony in for our daughter and her fiancee. Perhaps you can suggest who I would get in touch with to organise a wedding.
Can you let me know what reasonably priced 3 bedroom or a two bedroom and a one bedroom villa on the same complex would be available around June or July 2012.
Thanks Komang, I look forward to your reply.
Regards,
Kate Walker
